[attr="class","ccrapptxt"] [attr="class","ccrapptitle"]BIOGRAPHY A monster through and through Ignatia is a vicious woman with a black heart and blacker mind. Raised to hunt and kill, be her prey human or monster, she is a well-oiled death machine who does her very best to feel only blood lust and sadistic glee. Despite her young appearance she's an old woman, wise of the ways of the world and the people inhabiting it. She's a dangerous enemy to have and an even more dangerous friend. Above all else she enjoys conflict -- in all walks of life -- and if you can't provide it you best get out of her way. [break][break] [attr="class","ccrappsub"]APPEARANCE The natural shape of the Arachne is abomination. An amalgamation of a spider's hideous shape and a woman's shapely charms, it is both and neither all at once. From the waist up the monster looks almost human. Bearing curves, the gentle swell of hips and breasts, and a human face -- eyes, a nose, and full lips. If they were left at this they'd look almost stunning. But no. Their skin has been replaced by greyish-black carapace, a solid shell covering their flesh and bone everywhere but on their face, chest, and stomach. Their arms are over long, and each finger is tipped with sharp talons made to rend and tear. And this is only the start of the monster's grotesquerie. [break][break] While their upper body is humanoid in appearance, the only thing left to the Arachne below their hips are the body and limbs of a spider. Where a human woman's legs would start sprouts a spider's abdomen. Large, bulging, and constantly pulsing with the flow of blood and motion of the Arachne. Similar to the upper body, it too is covered in a thick carapace, with the only unprotected section being its underbelly. This abdomen dwarfs the upper body by several times, making the Arachne as large as your average truck. From it sprouts eight limbs -- six legs and two arms, not dissimilar to those on the upper body -- bringing the total number of limbs the Arachne owns up to ten. The entirety of the Arachne is hairless in this form, and each of its legs end in a wicked, pointed spear of carapace that clicks with every step made. [break][break] In her natural form the Arachne is at their strongest, but what good is a predator who scares away their prey? It is for this reason that the Arachne adopted a more human form, embracing the beauty shown in small traces on their upper body. The carapace recedes to show smooth skin, and the spider's abdomen is sloughed off in favor of slender legs. The shell on Ignatia's head retreats, and in its stead flows fiery orange hair, full and long enough to tickle her hips. Her wide eyes turn from a murky grey to a startling blue, and her skin goes from an off-putting pallor to a pinkish white. [break][break] She stands at a modest 5'5", her body demure with slender legs and petite hips and breasts. Her arms lose their protective coating and dangerous talons, instead adopting long, dainty fingers perfect for careful work. In this form the only signs of her arachnid nature are her canines, still incredibly sharp and slightly longer than normal, and her thighs, which retain their carapace covering. Otherwise she's the picture of a lovely young lady. A wolf in sheep's clothing. [break][break] [attr="class","ccrappsub"]HISTORY > born in an abandoned warehouse in silverspoons alongside several hundred siblings > neglected by mother, left to fight with siblings as is tradition > each morning mother would leave, each night she'd return to feed the children > always brought the same amount of food, always split it amongst those still alive > if you wanted more food you killed your siblings, it was that simple > as years went on the spiderlings learned how best to kill one another, and #'s thinned > ignatia's kill count was very high, and she became merciless towards competition > was among a group of a couple dozen still alive when their "teenage years" began > was shooed out of the nest with a small sum of money and mom's first and only bits of advice > killed several more of her siblings in her first week alone. old habits die hard. > some monsters try to live peaceful lives and co-exist with humans -- no way. > watches humans from the shadows during the day, hunts them in the shadows come night. > spends years observing them and their habits, all the while earning a reputation. > more than once kills humans trying to hunt her and monsters trying to compete. > people start being more wary and careful in her hunting spots, she starts to eat less. > needs food, needs money. needs them fast. > starts practicing taking human shape, and within a month has it down. > pretends to be a poor, beggar orphan. taken in by a seamstress and her husband. > learns their art easily enough, it comes natural to arachne, and begins working for them. > a few years pass and she's become very skilled -- the couple aren't useful any more. > after an "accident" the old couple die and the store goes to ignatia. > runs the store on her own, using the job as a way to not only earn money, but also find prey > begins memorizing faces and habits, soon begins making plans with individual people. > learns to lure in people with her smiles and waves rather than hunting from the shadows. > eats very well. > soon after approached by a man, shows off his fangs, she entertains him. > eventually becomes pregnant. kills the man and a short while later has children. > raises them as she was raised, even uses a similar warehouse. knows little and less of them. > continues hunting and starts noticing little bits of suspicion. > begins keeping an ear and eye open for any kind of rumors, silences them. > becomes adept at covering her tracks and doing what she loves. > develops relationships with monsters and humans as the years go on. > makes her fair share of enemies as both ignatia and weaver. > hears rumors about her great age and lack of aging. > begins leaving town every ten or so years, stays gone and travels for a couple years. > comes back and sets up shop elsewhere in town, has many stories and names. > keeps her business small as to limit the dangers of being noticed. > lives a humble life in a humble apartment, biding her time until a chance for something big. > notices the brewing of war, now well into an arachne's adulthood. > can't wait to get involved. > begins hunting more and fighting more to get stronger. > intends to be on top of this conflict and bring many a human and monster to ruin. > it's what she was made for.
